theGist is using generative-AI tech to increase workplace productivity by simplifying information creation and consumption with a contextual assistant.

Our first tool, theGist for Slack, filters out noise and provides personalized summaries of Slack discussions.

About you

We are seeking a talented Fullstack Engineer to join our team. As a Fullstack Engineer at theGist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing both frontend and backend features for our web and Electron applications. You will work closely with our product and design teams to ensure a seamless user experience across all platforms.

Responsibilities

Design and implement user interfaces for theGist's web and Electron applications using React and TypeScript
Design and develop high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend services and APIs using NodeJS, TypeScript, and AWS
Collaborate with product and design teams to ensure a seamless user experience
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility
Develop and maintain data models and database schemas using TypeORM or similar frameworks
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in frontend and backend development

Requirements

6+ years of experience in fullstack development using React and NodeJS
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
Experience working with databases at high scale and designing database schemas
Strong proficiency in AWS technologies, including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
Familiarity with Electron and desktop application development
Experience in building responsive, mobile-friendly web applications
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Experience working in a startup environment is a plus
Experience with NestJS and AWS Amplify is an advantage.
