About you
We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our team. As a Backend Engineer at theGist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend services and APIs. You will work closely with our product and frontend teams to ensure a seamless user experience across all platforms.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend services and APIs using NodeJS, TypeScript, and AWS
- Work closely with product and frontend teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration with frontend applications
- Develop and maintain data models and database schemas using TypeORM or similar frameworks
- Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and fault tolerance
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in backend development

Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in backend development using NodeJS and TypeScript
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Experience working with databases at high scale and designing database schemas
- Strong proficiency in AWS technologies, including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Experience working in a startup environment is a plus
- Experience with NestJS and TypeORM is an advantage.
